92 View from the Cellar The 2023 Arrocal “Parcela Las Canteras” Blanco is made entirely from Albillo Mayor vines, which are now twenty years of age. The hail from the high altitude, organically-farmed vineyard of Lasa Canteras. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in five hundred liter French oak puncheons for a year prior to bottling, followed by nine more months of bottle aging prior to release. The wine comes in at a svelte 12.5 percent alcohol in 2023 and shows off a lovely bouquet of tart orange, green pear, chalky soil tones, raw almond, a touch of green olive, lemongrass and a whisper of oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and zesty, with a lovely core of fruit, fine soil undertow and grip, a good spine of acidity and a long, precise, well-balanced and complex finish. This is a superb wine! 2025-2035.
