The really good 2021 Legado del Moncayo Garnacha Blanca comes from the La balsa vineyard which is set on clay-rich loamy soils. The wine is soft and enticing with green melon, Pink Lady apple and copious minerals. Fragrant and delicious, this beautiful wine will cellar well for another eight years — but is irresistible in its youth. Drink 2022-2029.

The white garnacha bottling from Legado del Moncayo hails from the same volcanic, poor soils as the red wines from this fine estate. The wine comes in this year at 13.5 percent alcohol and delivers a bright bouquet of peach, melon, citrus blossoms, stony soil tones and a topnote of white lilies. On the palate the wine is vibrant, full-bodied and focused, with a fine core of fruit, good soil signature, sound framing acids and a long, youthfully complex finish. This is a fine example of Garnacha Blanca and a very good value. 2022-2027.

The 2022 Garnacha Blanca from Legado Del Moncayo is made from vines that are now
twenty-five years of age. The wine is given six months aging on its fine lees prior to bottling and
the 2022 comes in at 13.5 percent octane this year. The wine offers up a bright nose of nectarine, spring flowers, white soils and a touch of candied citrus peel. On the palate the wine is bright, fullbodied, focused and juicy at the core, with good acids and fine length and grip on the bouncy finish. This is not overly complex, but tasty. 2023-2027. The Garnacha Blanca vines of Legado del Moncayo are planted at high elevation on the
flanks of the Moncayo Mountain, with very stony soils and the wine stays nicely fresh and vibrant
as a result. The 2023 version comes in at 13.5 percent octane and offers up bright and complex
bouquet of pear, apple, a touch of coriander seed, lovely soil tones, wild fennel and a topnote of
dried flowers. On the palate the wine is focused, full-bodied, complex and zesty, with a lovely core
of fruit, good mineral undertow, a fine spine of acidity and a long, well balanced and classy finish.
This is very good wine and a great value! 2024-2028.
