Made from Bobal grapes, this Utiel-Requena DOP bottling offers Christmas spices, ripe teaberry, and shades of orange rind on the nose. Beautifully textured and fresh, with no hard edges, this would be a delightful Rose for a hot summer day that will pair well with an endless range of tapas. Drink 2022-2026.

The Bovale Rosado is made entirely from the lovely grape variety of Bobal, with these vines fully forty years of age. The 2021 Bovale Rosado delivers lovely aromatics of white cherry, casaba melon, rose petal, salty white soils and a lovely touch of spice in the upper
register. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and succulent, with a fine core, good framing acids and grip and a long, impressively complex finish. I really like the backend lift here. Fine juice. 2022-2025.

This wine has a bouquet of apricot, cherry and rose petal. Floral notes continue on to the palate, where they are joined by flavors of grapefruit and honeydew melon
with the faintest hint of green bell pepper. A soft savory note carries into the bright finish

The 2022 Bovale Rosado is made entirely from the Bobal grape variety, with the vines going into this bottling forty years of age or older. The wine is a lovely pale salmon color and offers up a nose of watermelon, candied orange peel, salty soil tones and dried flowers. There is also a touch of savory notes in the nose which are from the screwcap, but these blow off if one gives the wine some time in decanter. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and succulent, with a good core, sound acids and very good length and grip on the well-balanced finish. Bobal is clearly a grape that lends itself to making good Rosado! 2023-2026. John Gilman - Issue #105 May/June 2023. |

The 2024 Bovale Rosé from Viña Jaraba is a delicate, pale salmon color. The wine is made
entirely from the Bobal grape and is given a short, two hour maceration period to give the wine its delicate color. The wine’s nose offers up a bright bouquet of tart orange, wild strawberries, chalky soil tones and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is bright, juicy and full-bodied, with a good core of fruit, fine soil undertow, good focus and balance and a long, bouncy finish. The acids here are pretty gentle in 2024, so I would be inclined to drink the wine over the next year or so. 2025-2027. John Gilman, Issue 1117, May– June 2025 |
